Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist Chief Pilot in day-to-day supervision and co-ordination of Part 121 pilots and aircraft.

This includes:

Supervision of 121 pilots to ensure compliance with Company policy, FAA, aircraft and operating procedures.
Observe crew procedures at locations where aircraft are assigned, including ramp checks of aircraft and crewmembers to ensure proper flight kit and revisions.
Ensure flight crewmembers and Flight Following Department Manager has necessary information to operate safely and according to regulations and prescribed limitations, including NOTAMS and updated airport analysis.
Maintain stored flight plans and update as necessary to ensure efficient flight operation.
Produce TSA flight crew manifest and transmit to AOSC.
Coordinate duties of administrative assistant in preparation of pilot schedules (Domestic and International) to ensure that current and qualified flight crew is available at each location for each flight. Review schedules for most efficient use of flight crew. Coordinate flight training and travel. Ensure schedules are transmitted to crewmembers and Flight Following Department on timely basis.
Act as management on call duty person as needed. Make operational control decisions as necessary to ensure safe operation and be available to provide support as needed to answer questions or prevent delay or cancellation. Review deviation reports with flight following personnel and report any delays or incidents to supervisor.
Work directly with Maintenance Department to assure aircraft movements and crews are coordinated for maintenance needs.
Perform audits as requested by Chief Pilot.
Assist in Part 121 pilot budgets.
Review flight crewmembers flight and duty records for accuracy. Review flight related paperwork for accuracy and provide guidance to crewmember if corrections are necessary.
Participate in Pilot interview and hiring process and make recommendations as to qualifications for hire.
Perform pilot annual salary reviews and counseling/remedial training, as necessary.
Ensure initial and recurrent training is completed as required. Review and update training materials as required.
Review 12-5 Standard Security Procedures and Directives. Ensure they are transmitted to flight crewmembers. Provide training to pilots in conjunction with the 12-5 Security Program in ISC and GSC roles.
Assume duties and responsibilities of Chief Pilot in his absence as outlined in Volume 1, 121/135 Operations Manual.
Ensure positive communications with flight crewmembers, Flight Following Department and other Company personnel.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot or Direction or Operations.
Adhere to Company policy and procedures.
Experience and Skills:

Education and Experience:

Requires a minimum of five years airline experience directly related to FAR 121/135 training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the FAR 121/135 operating environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Ability to communicate verbally via telephone and in person.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Proficient with MS Office
