What does an Airbus Ground/Simulator Instructor do for Allegiant?

The Airbus Ground/Simulator Instructor is responsible to the Airbus Fleet Training Captain for the conduct and administration of all Airbus ground and flight training. The Airbus Ground/Simulator Instructor will assist in the development of new training programs and the revision of the current programs.

What are some of the daily duties of an Airbus Ground/Simulator Instructor?

Coordinate materials and facilities for, Initial, Recurrent, Transition and Upgrade pilot ground school courses.
Assist the Fleet Training Captain with coordinating training schedules with the Pilot Training Schedulers.
Coordinate and teach Basic Indoctrination, General Operational Subjects, and Aircraft Systems.
Teach Systems Integration Training in a Flight Training Device.
Teach Flight Training in a Flight Simulator.
Conduct Line Oriented Flight Training sessions.
Assist in the training and administration of the Contract Instructor/Check Airman Training Program.
Assist in the Pilot Training department audit program of ground and simulator training.
Conduct oral examinations in preparation for Type Rating Checks.
Provide feedback on training programs and recommend enhancements.
Assist in Line Observations as part of the Allegiant Air Line Observation Program.
Conduct regular line flight observations
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Fleet Training Captain or the Fleet Manager.

What are the minimum requirements to be an Airbus Ground/Simulator Instructor?

Education requirements High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.

Work Experience Flight experience on the A320 or A330 series aircraft. Successful candidates will have experience in ground and simulator training environments, curriculum development, and as a check airman.

What other skills, knowledge, and qualifications are needed to be an Airbus Ground/Simulator Instructor?

Knowledge of FAR 121 flight operations; pilot training regulations and guidance; and pilot/check airman/instructor qualifications.
Airline Transport Pilot certificate required with an A320 or A330 Type Rating
Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986

What are the physical requirements of an Airbus Ground/Simulator Instructor?

Office environment; classroom; simulator; line operations
Travel involved between primary training facilities and pilot bases
Must be able to live 50 lbs. to table height
Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment
Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position
